We are open on Monday’s again now until Memorial Day. Our Spring hours are 9-5 Monday-Saturday.
If you haven’t done so yet, now is a good time to fertilize the lawn. As always our favorite is Jirdon Greenmaster fertilizer. Formulated for our region, it is high in iron and sulfur which helps combat our alkaline soil conditions. It’s also high in nitrogen which will give your lawn a quick green up and start it growing. Water it in after spreading on the lawn.
Plants are starting to trickle in now. This year we have Eversweet Strawberries which are an everbearing variety that are great for our area. They produce large red sweet fruit in early summer and then continue to set fruit through fall. The best part is they tolerate temperatures over 100 degrees without affecting fruit quality. Strawberries are perennial and establishing a nice patch can produce fruit for many years.
Pansies are in and looking very colorful. They can be planted now and actually enjoy the cold. We have cool season veggies like broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, as well as a few early season herb plants. Perennial flowers are starting to show up with more varieties expected every week.
Trees, shrubs and roses will NOT be here until late April.
*We are open Mondays during our Spring hours (April 1st - May 23rd)
