Roses can be pruned and fertilized any time now. Prune tea roses about 6" to 8" tall, and climbers 3 foot. Fertilize with "Bills Rose Food." Apply Hi-Yield Systemic granules to protect against aphids.
Rhubarb plants are in and they are ready to plant. Mix in compost or well rotted manure when planting. Plant in a sunny area and keep them moist, but not soggy.
If you have or suspect borers on your peach, nectarine, apricot, cherry or plum tree then apply Ferti-Lome Borer Killer around the trunk of your tree. This will kill active borers. Spray the trunks of the trees in July to prevent borers from being a problem.
Fertilize trees and shrubs any time now. Jirdon Tree and Shrub is a balanced food for woody plants that has a high amount of iron which helps with growth and health.
Spray fruit trees and other trees with dormant or horticulture oil. This will control many insects that are over wintering on the bark.
We have 3 different hand held seeders to help planting garden seed easier.
